Clean Spuds, Smart Choices: AI Vision, Data & Smart Ejection for Potato Products

Potatoes can hide costly defects at any stage of the value chain. This session shows how hyperspectral Chemical Imaging Technology (CIT® Gen3) paired with high-resolution RGB cameras and real-time AI separates what the eye can’t see—sugar ends, glassiness, hidden defects and foreign materials—at line speed.

We’ll also cover how inline metrics and automated machine control can turn sorting data into process decisions.

Finally, we’ll focus on the mechanical side that makes or breaks performance: gentle handling and advanced, precise ejection—from active shutter technology to modular hybrid ejection (air nozzles + mechanical flaps) and Zero-Touch Reject for hazardous objects like glass.

The audience will leave with a practical framework to boost yield, reduce rework and claims, and raise food-safety confidence across the factory.
