Overcoming national airline and pandemic disruptions, Potato Expo 2022 provided industry attendees the opportunity to network, reconnect, and learn about the latest services and technologies to improve their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-1024x374.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2842\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-1024x374.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-300x109.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-768x280.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-1536x560.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-2048x747.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-1200x438.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_8086-1980x722.jpg 1980w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The two days of programming and networking opportunities included: a live recording of the Eye on Potatoes Podcast on the topic of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepacker.com\/news\/industry\/eye-potatoes-podcast-looks-inflation-supply-chain-resiliency\">inflation and supply chain forecasting<\/a>, featuring University of Idaho assistant professors of agricultural economics Pat\u202fHatzenbuehler and Liang \u201cJimmy\u201d Lu; live and silent auctions to benefit the Potato Leadership, Education, and Advancement Foundation (Potato LEAF), which brought in $45,470 to support the foundation\u2019s leadership development efforts; and numerous NPC-hosted policy discussions, including a breakout session looking at the prospects for a congressional solution to the U.S. ag labor crisis, featured in a story by Expo media partner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepacker.com\/news\/industry\/produce-industry-looks-congress-solutions-labor-crisis\">The Packer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-2048x1367.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-1200x801.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.nationalpotatocouncil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/npc_7979-1980x1321.jpg 1980w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Potato Expo also made a social media splash when Family Favorites Potato Challenge co-hosts <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SimonMajumdar\/status\/1479176764521791489\">Simon Majumdar<\/a> \u2013 a Food Network judge, celebrity chef, and TV personality \u2013 and Potatoes USA Culinary Director RJ Harvey posted a picture on Twitter about their love of potatoes. Other celebrity chefs, including Charm City Cakes chef <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/duffgoldman\/status\/1479193753092980742\">Duff Goldman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mashed.com\/729302\/these-2-foods-are-miracles-according-to-ted-allen\/\">Ted Allen<\/a>, host of Food Network&#8217;s &#8220;Chopped,\u201d weighed in about their shared appreciation for America\u2019s #1 vegetable.
