Today’s agreement puts the U.S. potato industry back on a level playing field with foreign competitors in accessing our largest export market in terms of tariffs. Now we must turn to gaining Japanese market access approval for products such as fresh (table stock) potatoes and year-round access for chipping potatoes.

The U.S potato industry was represented by Dan Moss at an agricultural trade event at the White House with President Trump. Moss is a potato grower based in Rupert, Idaho, and former President of the National Potato Council (NPC).

National Potato Council Announces New Executive Team

The National Potato Council (NPC) announced a new executive team. Kam Quarles, the current Vice President of Public Policy and Communications for the NPC, will become the new Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Mike Wenkel, the current Executive Director of the Michigan Potato Industry Commission, will step into the newly-created role of Chief Operations Officer.

The National Potato Council (NPC) announced a new executive team.
